How beautiful is the art of letterpress? One of the key tools of a letterpress print shop is a reglet cabinet, or “furniture” cabinet (“furniture” is referring to the wooden blocks that surround the type pieces).

A wedge shaped cabinet stores the “furniture”: 5 or 6 pieces per size, short at the top, long at the bottom, and narrow on the left to wide on the right.

As seen in our piece, the numbers indicating the sizes are still visible, and while it does show signs of wear, it remains a gorgeous piece of history and a stunning objet d’art.
