rare "cantique des cantiques" with drawings by Matisse

A rare edition of "Cantiques des cantiques" from 1962 by Le Club Français du livre. This is an edition that was specifically made for a book club and was not part of regular distribution. 

This book was written by Max Jacob, a French poet, painter, and writer, who was part of the avant-garde movement in the early 20th century. It contains a collection of Jacob's poetry, reflecting his unique style and themes, often blending religious imagery with modernist experimentation, along with 15 drawings by Henri Matisse.

In original slipcase which shows some damage and wear as pictured.
