An absinthe spoon is a perforated or slotted spoon which is laid across the rim of a glass and used to hold a sugar cube to sweeten the absinthe and counteract its mild bitterness. The spoon is normally flat, with a notch in the handle used to help hold the spoon on the rim of the glass.
Of course, since these metal spoons would have been crafted during the Belle Epoque period of the late 19th century, the shapes, patterns and slots of the spoons show artistry and attention to detail.
Now we think they make charming, one of a kind serving spoons.
