Kouglof is a traditional Alsatian brioche that is made with yeast-risen, enriched dough. It's baked in a special mold such as this, that's tall and fluted, and has a central chimney to ensure even cooking.
These gorgeous terra cotta molds are circa 1890s. We love the raw exterior with the glazed interior. Sourced from a brocante in Aix-en-Provence. Sold individually. Please note the signs of age and wear as pictured.
