Antique sewing scissors, also known as "ciseaux de mercerie" in French, are small, finely crafted scissors designed for delicate sewing tasks. They are usually made from high-quality steel or iron, sometimes with gilded or silver-plated handles. Handles often featured intricate designs, such as floral patterns, animal shapes (like storks), or Art Nouveau motifs.Designed for precision, with sharp, pointed blades for cutting thread, fabric, or embroidery.
