This finely detailed engraved map is the work of cartographer Victor Lavasseur, who worked in Paris in the 1800s. This particular map is a first issue, published in 1845 by A. Combette. The surrounding areas of the map that are filled with illustrations are the work of various French artists and engravers. To find it in such good condition is a rarity!
