Trophy hunting was popular in the 1800’s in Europe and as it increased in popularity, more and more country manors were decorated with trophies of large and small game animals. This style of decorating country homes with mounts eventually moved to North America and beyond.
This particular trophy features the feathers of the bird, mounted in a hand carved mahogany wood mount, crafted to resemble Black Forest style.
