pair of rare 1930 French Henri Delcourt art deco ceramic vases

An exceptionally rare pair of Henri Delcourt vases, beautifully crafted, and whimsically hand painted with classic Delcourt art deco details. In this case, a centre medallion featuring the sweetest pair of birds, set against a fantastic backdrop of yellow, black and green stripes. 

Each one is signed by the artist on the underside.

A rare and incredible heirloom set of vases, and works of art pieces to use and cherish. 

In fantastic overall condition, with very slight crazing to the finish. Please note the chip on the interior rim of one of the vases, that is almost imperceptible and does not affect the integrity of the piece.

In 1918 Henri Delcourt bought shares in the company of Boulogne-sur-Mer and was the head of pottery. Henri Delcourt appealed to artists such as Jacques Adnet, Louis Sue or Sibylle May who make his production available to the Paris market and in particular the designs studios of department stores such as Primavera (Au Printemps) and La Maîtrise (Galeries Lafayette. He became one of the biggest names in Art Deco style in the fields of ceramic as well as porcelain. He sold the pottery company in 1932.
