A French copperplate engraving titled Les Douceurs de l'Été—an allegorical boudoir scene with reclining nude figures attended by putti drawing a garland overhead, within a draped, columned interior. Drawn by Clément-Pierre Marillier (1740–1808) and engraved with etching and burin by Pierre-Adrien Le Beau (1744–1817), lettered along the lower edge with his title as engraver to the Duc de Chartres and dated 1776.
The inscription reads "Chatres," an unstandardized spelling typical of 18th-century engraved lettering, when French orthography still varied freely. Set under glass in a gilt rope-twist frame that suits the fine linework. Sourced from a brocante in Marseille.
dimensions: 6.25"W x 8"H x 0.5"D
Framed using regular glass.
