rare antique french chiavari chairs, set of 2
Chiavari chairs are named after the small Italian town where they originated. The iconic seat was invented in 1807 and this stunning pair is circa 1890s. The chairs have an elegant silhouette: a thin, lightweight frame with legs and rails that resemble bamboo. These chairs have a charming striped fabric seat, and they each feature a beautiful passementerie trim.
We sourced this pair of chairs from a collectors estate in Marseille, and now they are ready for a new life in your home.
Please note the fringe trim is different on each chair, which we think adds to the overall charm of the set.
Note: these items are local pick up preferred at our Pickering location only. If you live outside the GTA area we recommend that you contact us prior to purchase to discuss shipping options.
