This 1970s brass ring sundial is inscribed “To H.S. THON ANNO 1721”. It works by angling the ring in the sun so that after aligning the ring to the correct month, it will tell you the time of day. The ring sundial is a replica from a 1721 model. 

This rare find is a spectacular piece to add to your collection; it can also be worn as a pendant.  It would make a wonderful holiday gift to cherish!
