The "Jeu de Tarot " refers to the traditional 78-card French tarot deck used for playing the classic game of Tarot, especially popular in France and Quebec. The deck includes 56 suited cards—hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades—with each suit containing 14 cards: numbers 1 to 10 and four face cards (Jack, Knight, Queen, King). It also features 21 numbered trump cards and one special card, "L’Excuse" (The Fool), used uniquely within the rules of the game.
