Since the early 19th century highly skilled Sorrento practitioners have created a vast range of inlayed and marquetry work, it has even acquired its own descriptive title: Sorrento ware. This can range from huge marquetry wall panels like those in Sorrento Cathedral to delicately stunning musical boxes.
This beautiful Sorrento ware side table features an inlaid wood chess board, gorgeous inlaid details along the sides and legs, and hidden storage top.
In lovely vintage condition with only slight superficial signs of wear and use.
Sourced from an estate in Arles.
