This Bunzlau ceramic jug dates to the 1930s–1940s, crafted in Lower Silesia (then Germany) during the height of the Bunzlauer Keramik tradition. Made from durable stoneware, it features the region’s signature “peacock eye” motif—applied using the Spritzdekor sponge-stamping technique—in warm earth tones and cobalt blue.
Once produced in the German city of Bunzlau (now Bolesławiec, Poland), this piece reflects the artistry and craftsmanship that predated the postwar relocation of pottery production eastward. Its softly worn glaze and handmade irregularities only enhance its historic charm.
