19th century french etched glass decanter set
A sweet, petite antique glass decanter set with etched details and something extra: a rinsing cup.
Wine rinsers would be used to rinse one's wine glass between the various wine courses of an elaborate dinner. The rinsers would be placed within easy reach of every diner, and partially filled with the coldest water available to rinse or cool one's glass. The wine glass would be inverted into the water, and the diner would then gently swirl the foot of the wine glass to rinse it.
While this practice is outdated, we think this pretty glass makes for a sweet matching bud vase for the table.
