One of the beautiful things about hunting for old objects is the way that a seemingly simple thing becomes elevated through its unique history.

This 19th century glass jar for instance—lovely on its own, and then we learned it was used as a candy jar in a petite “confiserie“ or confectionary shop in a small village outside of Bordeaux.

We love the gorgeous art nouveau pressed details and all of the time worn beauty that speaks to its unique and charming past.

Please note the trace remnants of the cork stopper near the rim.
