Bamboo has been a staple in French homes since the beginning of the 20th century, and it took hold especially  in the 1950s and 1960s. It has since come to reflect a kind of warm and effortless design aesthetic. 

Especially popular are these gorgeous carved wood “bamboo” coat racks and hooks, made in countless variations and shades. 

This particular style of coat rack is especially rare: it features a square shape and two modular arms that can be adjusted in different directions.
