"Plum Brandy" is a famous painting created by Édouard Manet in 1877. The artwork depicts a young man in a Parisian café, holding a glass of plum brandy. It is renowned for its realistic portrayal of modern life and the subtle play of light and shadow.
Édouard Manet was a French artist who lived from 1832 to 1883 and is considered one of the pioneers of modern art. He played a crucial role in the transition from realism to impressionism, challenging traditional artistic conventions with his innovative techniques and subject matter. Manet's works, such as "Olympia" and "Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe," continue to inspire and influence artists to this day.
This vintage exhibition poster from a show in 1983 was sourced from a family estate. Note that the poster is mounted on a cardboard base.
